Four Seasons Resort – Aviara

Gail Garceau, Wedding PlannerWedding planner, Gail Garceau, was pleased to provide wedding coordination for bride, Amber Peek, and groom, Tommy Thayer, guitarist for the rock band, Kiss. The venue for this emotional and picturesque coastal wedding was the beautiful Four Seasons Resort Aviara, in Carlsbad, California. An eight-piece string ensemble played Beethove, Bach and The Beatles as 150 guests witnessed the couple’s exchange of vows. The DJ kept partygoers on the black onyx dance floor until midnight.

Wedding Planning for Celebrities

Gail Garceau, Wedding PlannerGail Garceau, a wedding planer in Newport Beach, California, handles the weddings of actresses, television personalities, and professional athletes. “Brides are very Euro-savvy, that’s my term,” she says. “They want now and wow and different. It’s life in the passing lane. They’ve been to eight million weddings. They’ve seen it all.” Garceau’s brides want their weddings to be remembered above everybody else’s. They hire her to understand their vision, stick to it, and make the vendors stick to it too.

It’s tempting to think that couples want extravagance on all levels, but that’s not true, says Garceau. “They want to be surrounded by beautiful things that are also meaningful to them.” One bride with a passion for jewelry ordered individual turquoise wedding cakes made to look like boxes from Tiffany’s-right down to the ribbon.

Newport Beach Weddings

Newport Beach offers the perfect locale to host a dream event. With a worldwide reputation for top-of-the-line luxury and seaside beauty, it’s not surprising that Newport Beach is a major wedding destination. People come from throughout Southern California—and around the world—to experience one of the most important milestones of their lives, right here.

Local residents don’t have to travel far to be married in what is a dream wedding destination for so many. But no matter where you come from, the ultimate wedding requires detailed plans. And setting the stage for this special day begins with selecting the scene.

Location, Location, Location

Whether outdoors with water views or indoors with elegant surroundings, or a combination of the two, finding a beautiful wedding location isn’t hard in Newport Beach. Luxury and elegance can be found at several venues right here in our backyard.

To select the perfect location for your ultimate wedding, consider if it is your style, says Newport Beach wedding planner Gail Garceau of Gail Garceau Weddings.“Walking in, it will either feel right or it won’t,” she says. When choosing a venue, in addition to finding one that fits your style, determine whether it fits your budget and will hold the number of people you want to invite, she adds.

Other popular wedding locations, including the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach and The Island Hotel, also fill up quickly. “If people want a Saturday, in general, it should be booked at least a year prior,” says Gail, adding that Friday night weddings can be fun and don’t typically need to be booked as far out.

Sunset Wedding in Dana Point

Gail Garceau, Wedding PlannerWorking a year ago with wedding planner, Gail Garceau, the couple left no detail undone; from the palette of chocolate and a Tiffany-esque blue to the custom cocktails – Pomegranate Frantinis and Lemon Jade Drops – to the DIY candy bar for wedding favors.

As the sun’s last summer rays cast a glow on the lawn at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel (actually located in Dana Point!), Jade Williams exchanged vows with Fran Scaglione after she was escorted down the petal carpeted aisle by her father, Stephen Williams, and stepfather, Scott Flanders.
